Anglecam was conceived in 1997, following the founders interest in remote Control applications, in particular the control and use of video equipment in an remote control environment.

The first four years of our existence were dedicated to research and development , with the first phase focused on obtaining a solid, smooth and reliable platform [Helicopter] on which to mount a camera.

 

Various designs were tried from single engine, single cylinder machines to 2 engined machine using methanol based fuels.

After rigorous testing it was decided to use a 2 stroke twin cylinder petrol engine, simular concept to the BMW motor cycle, this proved to be extreamly reliable with very good rates of torque and power which intern gave AngleCam the reliability needed for safe flight.

Once this platform had been designed, built and tested to our satisfaction, the fitting of the specialy designed double gyro-stabilized 3 AXIS Pan, Tilt, and ROLL camera mount (THE ANGLECAM POD). capable of receiving various types of cameras was now to be attached to the helicopter, the complete unit was re-tested so as to check that all our designs are correct, we were more that pleased with the result after flying for many hours the system worked well, and proved to be very safe.

Now that we are satisfied with our first product, we are now in a position to offer our services to the media industries, or in fact anyone that requires an eye in the sky.

We can offer services ranging from a single days shooting for digital still photographs to real time DVCAM video recording.
